Our Story
The Sanctuary at Giant’s Foot is named for the unique property on which it sits. Sold originally to the current owner’s family by William Penn’s brother and recently reacquired, the Giant’s Foot is a section of the Cherry Creek that was shaped by the flowing water into the resemblance of a large boot. The boot outline was quite prominent when viewed from the well traveled Cherry Valley Road above, and in the distance one could also see the infamous Delaware Water Gap.
Several postcards were made over the years detailing what some described as the ‘Giant’s Foot Freak of Nature’. We can only assume that was meant as the highest compliment to the surrounding land. Anyone who steps foot into the beauty of Cherry Valley will receive far more than they seek. Especially if they spend some time at the Giant’s Foot, right around the laces.
